If you’re a novice filmmaker and making a movie is not your job, then you don’t need a huge computer to do it. It is a fact that you can do video editing with any kind of machine or video editing software. Work with what you have! Hardware is not that important.

RAM

RAM is also important when video editing software requires a lot of RAM. The higher the resolution of the video, the more RAM you need. 16GB is the minimum required. If you are making videos with 4K resolution or even higher, then you should choose 32GB, 64GB or even more RAM.
